Ahem. The aesthetic and emotional landscape of The Fate of Ophelia is entirely Moulin Rouge, and with all due respect to the excellence of Taylor, you kids today gotta load up on early-aughts Baz Luhrmann because he did not screw around.
Thank you for coming to my musical theatre nerd TEDtalk.

A handful at most, between them. 😂 But we love them to bits.

No, that’s why I said I thought the art and story were amazing, I just hated it for emotional reasons. We saw it soon after we adopted our two, and the mom had a hard life before she came to us, so I found it rough to see their doppleganger nearly drown over and over.

We have four as well! Two big, handsome, dumb-as-rocks tomcats named Gus and Griffon, and the two very smart little inky ladies, Ramona and Lille. Black cats are the best, so affectionate and confident. Yours are all gorgeous!

Those names are terrific, and they’re gorgeous cats. And yes, I love the headlamp effect! I haven’t had a black cat before but I love the personality, I’d seek them out again.

We have two as well! Ours are mother and daughter, yours? They’re stunning! Do you also get them mixed up constantly so that they feel like a magic illusion that lives with you?
sproudfoot.bsky.social
I have, and I'm sorry to say that I kinda hated it. The concept and art are stunning, to be clear, but I have a hard time handling animals (especially cats) in danger or pain, so it was just emotionally harrowing for me.

This is Ramona (the Pest). She is so beautiful and perfect that she seems less like *a* cat or *the* cat than just “Cat,” the essence of catness embodied. I’m pretty sure she’s descended directly from someone in ancient Egypt. She’s a terrible brat and we love her to pieces.

Canadian politicians must fear being the subject of @sproudfoot.bsky.social’s next column the way Americans fear hearing that Isaac Chotiner is calling

In no uncertain terms, Ms Proudfoot in today’s @theglobeandmail.com justly calls out petulant piffleswipe Pierre Poilievre for the lies he tells about who’s at fault for the challenges 🇨🇦Canada faces.

Thank you! Honestly, I amused myself with that one. 😂

ICYMI, here's my write-up of Carney's visit to the Oval Office yesterday, and the very different approach from his last visit. #cdnpoli

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

ICYMI: here lies the federal carbon tax, which left this world on March 31, 2025. What can its short, violent life teach us about politics and policy? #cdnpoli

That’s excellent! I hope he goes and loves it. The Best Of screening on Sunday night is a perfect introduction with all the award winners in one place.

This is your annual reminder that the Ottawa International Animation Festival is the best world-class event in this city you’ve probably never heard of. Amazing art in motion all weekend, including the buffet of award winners tomorrow night. www.animationfestival.ca

What's weird about his schtick is that he's constantly saying insane, provocative, explosive things, but the net effect quickly becomes white noise. He's so extreme that he just gets boring. It's kind of wild, it's like he violates some basic law of emotional physics.

Please believe me when I say that as bananas as this is, it may not crack the top 10 from today's tour of the inside of Donald's skull.
