Here at CAN, we know that every car trip replaced by bicycle brings benefits to our budget, and to our sense of well-being - it’s all part of the #CyclingMagic. If you experience that Cycling Magic, how about encouraging your work mates? It’s the last week to pop your vote back in the voting box!

That #CyclingMagic - jump on the bike, head to the game, and you're warmed up! And it's a great way for kids to head to the soccer, or rugby, or swimming!

With about 7,500 sports clubs across the motu, there's lots of opportunities to #CycleToTheGame !

We found shelter, we dodged rain drops, we splashed puddles, and toasted to coffee outdoors with bikes. 5/5
We had an amazing wash processed Kenyan batch brew (Kaliluni AA) to go with delectable pastries (I saw blueberry danishes, chili cheese scrolls, and more 🤤), stickers, prizes, and Action Bicycle Club even kicked in a $65 gift voucher (congrats Mario!). 4/5
@ridewithgps (and all their cool event sponsors like Miir, Swift Industries, and Coava coffee) @coffeeembassy_nz @actionbicycleclub and @bellbirdbakery. What an amazing community! It was miserable out, but your swag assuaged our soaking wet panniers. 3/5
Shout-out to Tiny from South Africa, Ken from Singapore, Mario from Germany, Sean from the US, and George, our only Kiwi in attendance (actually, George's whanau met up with us, so cheers to Sarah and Maisie too). And an even bigger shout-out to the community support 2/5
That's it from the very first international #coffeeoutside ride in the world in 2025 (we are just inside the international date line, after all). We got amazing RSVP numbers (ahem! More than Adelaide, Berlin, and Paris even 🫨), but we fell short on turn out. The rain did us in.

Reminder that #coffeeoutside 2025 is happening this Sat! Bring a mug for coffee and milk (and non dairy options) will be provided on the day! RSVP to go into the prize draw ridewithgps.com/events/40108... See you there!

It's part of that #CyclingMagic - on your bike you can pop down to a local cafe, to the bookstore, the gym because you can. You don't have to worry about finding a car park, or the traffic, or the sheer stress of driving - all those evaporate when you jump on your bike.

You might be familiar with cycle infrastructure near you; what would you do to improve it? Install concrete separators on top of painted separator lines? Smooth out slopes along cycleways to make it more comfortable for cyclists? How could you encourage Councils to continually improve?
After six years we remain amazed by the mindset of constant improvement in The Netherlands.

At Nieuwe Plantage in Delft a slip lane was removed, the road narrowed, safety and priority for pedestrians and cyclists improved, with 60 new trees to be added to help cool in the summer and absorb water.

Whoops, bit late to the party!

September 19th marks Womens' Suffrage Day in Aotearoa NZ, and the humble bicycle played a big part in achieving the right of women to vote in 1893. The rest is history, and the humble bicycle still powers revolutions.
