the association of monster energy drinks with emo has always been the weirdest zoomerism to me. scene is not AS far off but it was definitely more of a skater/grunge thing imo. monster/energy drinks in general were definitely teen boy mascstyle (emo/scene boys were fagstyle, totally different)
