Sadly that is true . It’s also an inherent lack of interest about the country they’re visiting /moving to . Most med countries are attractive for their climate , not their culture ☹️

When I go to my post office , I see the mountains of packages for Evri & Amazon etc .
I think Royal Mail has been overtaken by cheaper & more efficient providers .
Once I’d have said , fine , because Royal Mail is a good employer . My postie tells me otherwise .

My partner , who rarely sends mail, was shocked that 1st Class didn’t mean ‘next day.’
I had to explain that it meant ‘might be faster than 2nd class.’
He’s asked how fast was that ? I explained that nobody knows 🙄

Are we still paying some sort of subsidy to those companies who took on the customers of failed companies ?

As I say , they are staffed by many part time , often young vets , who are fee earners . They have no discretion in charging/pricing , it comes from HQ.

It’s not ‘prescriptions’ it’s prescriptions drugs .Get a prescription £27 (covers a year) & then tablets are 18p each online .
Buy the same tablets at the vet , £2.50 each !
My Vets have loads of deliveries from VioVet , they are buying in cheaply 😡
Your Vet’s a fee earner not James Herriot .

Is it that the ‘owners’ of the stations are under pressure to make money & so set high rents ?
The big players can afford that , the lovely independents can’t ☹️
It’s sad that a station can’t be a real community resource .

I sincerely hope , that is the interests of fairness , other countries require British ‘ex pats’ to have C level language skills in order to remain in their host countries .
