By request from the community I've fixed a bug in Space Moguls (#C64 4 player strategy, 2018). On planet Alia Terra a cell could seem to produce a full amount of items when it actually produced none under certain circumstances.

Protovision will provide a digital update for buyers when it is ready.
Tiger Heli was fun to work on! Lately though I’ve been confusing it with Ports of Call graphics due to the early harbour stage…
Tiger Heli celebrates its 40th anniversary today. Released in arcades on October 28, 1985 by Toaplan. 🚁

Celebration deal!

And here is the optimization post, wrote some stuff about what I work on on the team!
Dev Diary #187 - Performance & Optimization 📊

In today's dev diary, our tech and programming teams detail the technical challenges of adding East Asia to Crusader Kings III and the work they've done to minimize the impact it has on the performance of the game.

Posting a picture of some cows before the internet reacts to my work post ;)
I've implemented collision in my current #Commodore64 game project and now I have to decide if hitting something kills you or if you lose "energy" and I need to push the player vessel out of collision.

It is quite fun to do some fairly trivial math in 6502 assembler, when it all works of course....
I have written some stuff, revealing my pdt project, included some profiling graphs and some fun stories together with a few other coders on the team..
Join us tomorrow at 2PM CEST for our next All Under Heaven dev diary! We'll be giving a detailed look into how expanding Crusader Kings III to include all of Asia affects performance, and what we've done to address it.

Pre-orders for Earthion by Ancient are live!

Strap in and deploy a devastating arsenal as you fight your way through eight chaotic levels, each with unique environments, enemies and boss fights.
Thank you! And may you have a pleasant path ahead :)
It feels just like when they were flooding all the cities with electric scooters but at the same time more annoying.
I am sorry, but I felt I had to get those old Toaplan games redone. But fear not Luke, from now on I promise many *new* Commodore 64 and Mega Drive games! Earthion was new at least :)
My temporary #Commodore64 game project is looking surprisingly good. Looking forward to wrapping it up!
(still need to get started on collision though....)

I'll get back to Island Adventure soon enough :)

This study should itself force companies amd govt to cease planning use of these models in any critical or meaningful way.

And yet.
Poor leadership is rampant in the game industry though, where failure is sometimes even celebrated as success because it met certain financial or timeline goals at the cost of the true talents' livelyhoods.
What a hateful approach to people who's only fault was working in companies with poor leadership. Imagine if the same sentiment applied to fintech where consequences of incompetence are massive. I'm glad I've never encountered this person. Everyone has something positive to offer.
Nice screen layout!
It has been a lot of fun working together on this and I’m sure we will cross paths again in the future :)
That’s an opportunity for a cartridge tape turbo loader!
That is a perfect example of a botched hardware product leading to software opportunity :)

I also want one because I want to see how playable my own games are, but I guess it is the same thing as TheC64mini which has no functional keyboard but also suspiciously no cassette port!
The C64GS is probably my vote for terriblest retro hardware.
If you’re making a … game … please turn off the motion blur!!!!
Congrats on the success so far! Still hoping for 16 bit console support :)

If it helps, the new Mega Drive game I ported to modern consoles has "been doing extremely well" according to the US publisher CEO!

The beep preorder bonus for the Super Deluxe version is tempting though..
I worked on the orig Pac-Man World 2 and I'm really excited to see how the game was modernized in action!

My fondest memory was working on the Pookas jumping around! I also had some fun making a rope bridge, the bdoings. I did a water sim but that didn't make it so I made a fun wake effect instead.
It was a fun to assist Ancient with the modern console ports, including building a Mega Drive emulator from scratch! (I previously did the Toaplan collection for Steam/GoG)

It is almost finished now, just a few reported issues then console version release and the physical modern platform release :)
Looking into what caused that ASAP!
