A strong group. Never heard this Chaka at the right speed before ahem. Can kinda relate to Rockwell’s urban paranoia. Staples cover surprisingly faithful (I might nom another Byrne/Staples thing if/when we get to BPHM86). Prefer this Whodini to the other one. Decisions, decisions.

Did a double take when I saw “Misled” was by KATG; full marks to them for a different sound. That might be enough to get my vote. (Not a Billy O fan. Patti’s song is pure jelcore; don’t hate it. Dennis & Seidah are best here but Gorman’d sadly)

First time I’ve heard any General Public, I think. In hindsight, kinda makes sense they went in this direction but I wish they sound more like their futuristic haircuts on the cover. Not a patch in the excellent Cherrelle song in any event.

So much happening in the Newcleus 12” mix. Is the Jam On Revenge LP worth a listen? The titles are great, so I’m hopeful.
