My sister visited me today. She said she wanted to watch Weapons, so I watched it again.

I finished it today. I wanted to read it since I watched The Innocents, it's quite good. They didn't change much, except that the film is more ambiguous and the governess was 20 years old in the book. As kids say, she should be at the club.

I've always thought that Mila Kunis and Barbara Hershey in Black Swan gave better performances than 4 of the Best Supporting Actress nominees that year. Jacki Weaver innocent, of course.

Not letting Spooky season go yet. Today I rewatched the three horror films that won the Oscar for Best Actress:
- Misery (1990)
- The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
- Black Swan (2010)

Winona Ryder has very few scenes in Black Swan, but she really made the most of the little time she had. "Did you suck his cock?" is legendary.

I'm old enough to remember the 2010 awards season, when the Black Swan team swore that Natalie Portman had danced in most of the scenes, and then the actual dancer came out to clarify that it had actually been her. The drama!

The Silence of the Lambs is my favorite film. I know that, viewed through a modern lens, it has received criticism, which is perfectly valid, but I simply love it.

Giggling because I remembered that Anthony Hopkins' inspiration for Hannibal Lecter's voice was Katharine Hepburn. I would like to see a version of Silence of the Lambs with Kate as Hannibal.
