Now I want to do an ice cream taco road trip!

You only have to go to Seattle. Only not right now, because Salt & Straw sold out of them, but they are making more.

I even know where to go to get one, but I can't say it appeals in the cold and wet. We're supposed to warm up again soon, though. Which will help my mood and my desire for ice cream.

I just give in; it's easier. Mornings are for coffee and cat snuggles.

Also quite difficult is the successful throwing of a baseball so that the one attempting to hit it cannot do so. And to do for the entirety of an engagement between two teams is noteworthy.

I wish I had a donut. I have some shortbread, which must suffice. I still feel celebratory after last night's baseball game.

It is! Especially since the grandbug is now 600+ miles away. It helping us stay connected.

I only got to watch parts of it live; it would have been a great game to actually sit and enjoy from first pitch to last. But we don't cancel family D&D night for baseball, even when Yama is pitching.

One side of our back yard would be an enclosed area for many Savannah cats that we will adopt. The other side holds a butterfly garden, including a greenhouse for pipevine and Pipevine swallowtails (I will have to buy the caterpillars, since we no longer have native ones here).

One wall of my living room is now a sheet of glass looking onto my personal naked mole rat colony.

lets say a wizard has cursed you with a lot of money. you are going to become permanently brain damaged simply by being in possession of so much money. the only way out of it is to spend a lot of money on something ridiculous and not at all useful

what would you buy to break the curse?

You must have gotten good reviews on the hummingbird network!

We have a lot of Annas. Ours don't migrate, but I'm seeing more of them on the feeder cam that I did in high summer.

It was awesome. More fun than last night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto just pitched an ENTIRE playoff game, allowing only ONE run. 80 years ago today, Sandy Koufax pitched the entire 7th game of the World Series, winning it for the Dodgers. I love this team.

That's the recipe the grandbug and I used!!

We're going to pack a LOT into that one week in November.

My family has a big thing for blind tastings at holiday gatherings. Sweet potato pie won that one.

Grandbug and I made a chocolate "cream" pie using silken tofu. It was delicious -- no one guessed! We used whipped coconut cream for the topping; that was a little tricky, but eventually we figured it out.

I like sweet potatoes with butter and black pepper, baked or mashed, but most of my family disagree. I like them in pie filling, but I'm not a big fan of them candied/marshmallow-covered as a side dish. We tend to avoid cheesecake now for the same reason -- lactose-intolerant family members.

Those all sound delicious. Sweet potato pie routinely beats pumpkin pie in local tastings. It's my fave orange pie.
