this is the most successful a CIA officer has been at toppling a government in years.

Big day at U.S. District Court in D.C. where Sean Dunn, the D.C. Sandwich Guy, is on trial for misdemeanor assault of a federal officer.

Border Patrol agent Gregory Lairmore is on the stand narrating surveillance video of the sammie toss.

'Now he’s struck me with the sandwich,' Lairmore says.
Their only position should be, impeach Trump and the entire administration, then we can negotiate a budget. As long as they allow impoundments, what's the point in allocating funding?
Definitely in the ending credits of A Beautiful Mind.
Imagine if justice were truly blind and the DOJ did their actual fucking job. Whoever comes in in 2029 is going to have to light a fire in the executive branch that will make what is currently going on look like a girl scout sing-along.
Uncap the fucking house. Should be priority one of a Dem Congress. Wyoming rule x 3.
My daughter bought a house three years ago. Her first mortgage agent suggested she should marry her boyfriend and have him as the primary borrower even though she made quite a bit more money. She laughed and hung up on him.
Arrested day 1. None of this special prosecutor bullshit.

All these guys want to pretend to be apex predators, but the second someone 'invades' their space, they throw a fucking hissy.
By interesting you mean blatantly racist. The GOP are full on segregationists.
So basically authorized human trafficking, what could go wrong?

Waltz called out at the UN. The rhetoric this administration uses in the US won’t fly anywhere else still and that’s of some comfort. The entire world is being tested right now.

Is social media dying? How much has Twitter changed as it became X? Which party now dominates the conversation?

Using nationally representative ANES data from 2020 & 2024, I map how the U.S. social media landscape has transformed.

Here are the key take-aways 🧵

Invariably there's a historical marker talking about coal mining or labor strife, but they'll also mention things like "in a town of 2,000 there were two Slavic language newspapers". What was supposed to be a point of contention turns into a point of pride.
The murder of Hatfield was probably as much personal as business since two of Felts' brothers were killed at Matewan. They were in town to evict families from company housing in response to unionizing that was going on. What's trippy and back to Derek's point, when you visit these little towns
Right on the courthouse steps. Lively was an employee of Baldwin Felts, lesser known, but probably more infamous than the Pinkertons or Dodge. Baldwin Felts was responsible for the Ludlow massacre in Colorado where they machine gunned a tent camp of women and children.
Just for a little more context. They were gunned down at the courthouse in Welch, WV (there's actually a decent Mexican place in town if you want to go). Both men were with their wives and unarmed. Sid was on trial for the events at the Battle of Matewan. Charles Lively delivered a coup de grace
That's exactly what it is, cause they know he's attracted to anything gold and shiny.
I remember when there was so much consternation about the patriot act and invasion of privacy and now it's like "Fuck it". This all needs to be dismantled. I'm willing to be a little less safe (and I'm not convinced by TSA performance art) than have this level of intrusion.

Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.
