Mills caused "substantial emotional distress." The court cited his "conduct," "his reasoning" & "his lack of reasoning," and his contacting her after I asked for comment, to find she has "reasonable cause to believe she is in imminent danger of becoming the victim of another act of dating violence"
sollenbergerrc.bsky.social
The court found Mills "failed to control himself," sent "harassing communications," and ignored Langston's 11 requests to stop contacting her. As for the sextortion allegation, the court "does not find [Mills's] testimony concerning the intimate videos to be truthful"

The court also found Mills's attempts to explain his side of the story "for the most part incomprehensible"
sollenbergerrc.bsky.social
In his decision, the judge found that Mills lied a lot — e.g., he "never told the truth" to his ex about another woman "until he was placed under oath in this matter and underwent a vigorous cross-examination." His ex "finally heard the truth," the judge wrote, "at the same time he told this Court."

I broke the news about these allegations and the injunction request — from Mills's ex-girlfriend, reigning Miss United States Lindsey Langston — back in August, for @dropsitenews.com. Lots of background and detail here. dropsitenews.com/p/miss-unite...
Miss United States Files Restraining Order Against GOP Rep. Cory Mills
Lindsey Langston reported the Florida Republican to law enforcement for harassment last month.

SCOOP: After two public court hearings, a Florida judge has issued a restraining order against Rep. Cory Mills for "protection against dating violence." Mills's ex-girlfriend filed for the injunction in August, alleging sextortion & violent threats. I'll post more clips from the decision below.

The indictment doesn't say when she started renting it out

Here's the second-home rider (a $137,000 purchase) at issue in the Letitia James indictment. First, it allows renting. It also requires secondary residence for a year, unless:
-the lender agrees otherwise in writing
-or "extenuating circumstances" exist "beyond the Borrower's control"

I think this is what Ezra Klein is doing fwiw. It's an insult, that the truth is too much for readers to bear. It is pathetic, myopic, and egomaniacal. Ask John Kelly or Mattis or Milley or Esper or Bolton or Mueller or Wray etc etc etc etc how effective that strategy is.

It seems to me that some influential Trump critics think the way out of this mess is to tell the public what Trump wants to hear — to legitimize his derangement — and then we, including him and his administration, will put all this in the rearview and go right back to normal governing happy as clams

Jack Smith's "hardball methods" included charging a former president for trying to subvert voters through fraud & violence, and for stealing national secrets & obstructing investigators. He collected some phone data of 8 senators—time & length of call; phone numbers involved—over a 4-day period.

Here’s a recent statement from that mother about the fight Walker is still putting up in the child support case
sollenbergerrc.bsky.social
Herschel Walker (2025 self-declared net worth between $32M-$80M) is currently fighting the mother of one of his secret kids in court over how much he pays in child support. Walker also reimbursed this same mother for an abortion, sent her a “get well” card, and then denied it when he ran for Senate.

NEW—US Department of Education sent out standard Out of Office language to employees on Wednesday in light of shutdown. Later yesterday, workers tell me they found someone had updated their auto-responses without consent to a new one blaming Democrats.

Version of original on left, updated on right:
Thank you for your email. There is a temporary shutdown of the U.S. government due to a lapse in appropriations. I will respond to your message as soon as possible after the temporary shutdown ends. Please visit ED.gov for the latest information on the
Department's operational status.
Thank you. Thank you for contacting me. On September 19, 2025, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 5371, a clean continuing resolution. Unfortunately, Democrat Senators are blocking passage of H.R. 5371 in the Senate which has led to a lapse in appropriations. Due to the lapse in appropriations I am currently in furlough status. I will respond to emails once government functions resume.

Jeez. Trump’s first-term El Salvador ambassador, in 2020, fired a U.S. embassy contractor at the request of the president of El Salvador because the contractor was investigating his ties to MS-13. This term, the ambassador — Ronald Johnson — is Trump’s ambassador to Mexico.

In 2023, DHS Inspector General found ICE broke the law when using location data harvested from phones, saying ICE “did not have sufficient policies & procedures in place to ensure that the location data was used appropriately.“

The Biden White House then killed the program. Trump started it back up

If it’s Option B, I wonder what the NYT editorial team would think if they knew they’d publishing something that fundamentally dishonest, intentions aside — which may explain his blindly and publicly doubling down on the premise. I’d like to hear someone ask him when he learned about the Jan 6 stuff

It doesn’t seem Ezra Klein knew very much about the things Charlie Kirk actually said and did when he wrote that piece, and the interview with Coates suggests he still hasn’t dug too deep. Either that or the piece is a deeply cynical, bad-faith attempt at bridge-building
