I always found it funny how the settings of works derived from Roadside Picnic have sorta become synonymous with the former Soviet Union for a lot of westerners, while the source is set in, like, Canada or something. Which I thought was a change in the English translation but apparently not.

aaand steam rejected the demo because of some graphical assets and still haven't finished reviewing it, saying to wait 3-5 days. So we're late anyway. Cool.

Running final playtests on SteelFront makes me wish we'd set it up to let me take control of units and jump into battle myself.

One of the basics I'm trying to square away is detailed textures on big objects (as opposed to generic tiled ones) while getting consistent resolution.

Simple enough to just disable filtering and go for a crunchy low-res look, which I like, but don't want to use as a crutch.

Sometimes I feel lost in a world torn asunder, but then I see "[slur]slayer1488✝️🇺🇸🇷🇺" and "GurlBallzNSFW✊🏿BLM⚧️🇵🇸🔞" both like my silly mech mod or w/e and I think, perhaps I'm helping bring it back together in some small way. As long as I don't have to actively engage with it.

Are there megastructures in the Zone? When I think "megastructure", I picture "unfathomably massive", like the setting of Blame. The CNPP meanwhile is quite fathomable, even if unfathomable phenomena are happening around it.
