Nice - but a bit more to it: the Hauley family were my local ferry owners 600 years ago and there is a Hauley Road etc. Reputably also piratical out of Warfleet Creek here. The Dart Lower Ferry remains a wonder of these parts.

It started by some saying that counsel should ‘share the risk’ by taking nothing - except those so instructing almost invariably (honourable exceptions) still took 25% from the client whilst skimming counsel and sometimes experts as best they could seeking target-driven profits.
