I was thinking of the inroads FDR made into the rural farmers. The GOP seems bound and determined to light the advantages there on fire. I'm not saying all of them will defect. But enough might that they'll badly undermine their base of support.

IDK about the New Deal Coalition. The GOP seems bound and determine to rebuild it for Democrats, despite any active proactive effort on the Democrats part.

Why is the organization that is allegedly trying to help Democrats win polling caricatures of the Democratic Party's positions? Seriously: they need to name one (1) serious Democratic politician who wants to give free health care to undocumented immigrants.

The 130 million “donation”, while a lot, doesn’t even cover a single day’s worth of pay for active duty members.

None of his donors like him enough to part with the billions of dollars on a regular basis that would require. The reason no country is run via weird donation system is its wildly inefficient and in no way comes close to covering the costs.

My mom marched with me and I work in the arts in a very blue city in a very blue state. I recognize that there are many who need to be circumspect about their protesting activities, but I don’t particularly care who knows I was at the protest.

My understanding is that the GOP is pretty maxed out when it comes to gerrymanders. Even adding in the loss of the VRA (which could be offset by CA and a few other states) there’s not many more votes to ring out. And of course they’re super vulnerable to a wave election.

A lot of them have been playing high level/pro sports their entire lives. Many have neglected academics and basic life skills because they needed to focus on their sport. So they lack pretty basic understanding about finances/life skills that most of us have because we’ve had to learn.

At least with Vietnam and Iraq II and Afghanistan there was some public support/buy in early on. I can’t imagine a conflict where 65% is dead set against the idea from the beginning with another 20 really hesitant

Seattle is having a mayoral election this fall and to my knowledge neither senator nor any of the reps have endorsed either candidate (establishment dem versus progressive outsider) which is fine? I don't particularly care who they would endorse in this particular race.
