Shinies will p much only despawn if u scare them away, KO them-- or once u have 10 shiny pkmn on entire map, ifa new shiny spawns and the oldest is overwritten AI think. So when hunting u don't need to check after every mon reset!

In wild zone 3 there is a building with a staircase, you enter it once and then just hold down on L stick and your character will go up & down repeatedly, resetting all the pkmn in 50ft radius! Shinies don't despawn so u don't need to check until like 30min later

Exaaaaactly! I'm loving the character customization too, so so good
Only beef I have is that there isn't a more saturated crimson red hair but the actual style options themselves are pretty solid

If there was a loading screen between you leaving and returning then the autosave probably got you. If a shiny gets startled again reset game before a new autosave kicks in and it should still be there unless the game wasn't saved during the time the shiny appears
