As that petition to parliament nears 3 million signatures - and is still waiting on a date for the parliamentary debate - I wrote some of my thoughts about UK Labour's adventures in digital ID.

YOU DID IIIIT! Now each issue will have one piece of NONFICTION!! We're SO thrilled. Thank you!! Our next stretch goal is +1 reprint per issue.

And beyond that? Stay tuned! Remaining goals will focus on helping us hopefully stick around for a long time.

Over a hazy purple background, there's the header "stretch goals." Five goals, of $6900, $8300, $9700, $11000, $12000, $13000, and $14000 are now illuminated in rainbow with a picture of an open lock next to them. The remaining goal $15000 (+1 Reprints!) shows a closed lock next to it.

Oh, yeah. It’s an uninformative media release. I wonder if they got a genAI to cobble it together.

Leaving aside the government’s nonsensical policies in this area, there are quite a few people on Bluesky who do like to jump in and show their ignorance. Your posts, in contrast, have been informative.

Yes. And no guarantee of getting it, either.

I am extremely happy I managed to get a Covid jag yesterday, that I’d booked for. The pharmacist told me she can’t always get the numbers of doses for the number of appointments each day. Despite trying.

Eeesh.

FWIW, I have a feeling that something went horribly wrong with the UK’s entire vaccination system around 2023. Not sure exactly what but can guess.

It’s enraging that Labour, national news media, and devolved nations seem content with the present status quo, which is harming people.

Doing a couple of radio spots this morning led me to researching and thinking a lot about the Australian Social Media Ban. I don’t think regulation itself is a bad idea, but this is a poor implementation in my view. Here’s my take.

Will the Under 16 Australian Social Media Ban Work? I Have My Doubts… - Alex Reviews Tech
Australia's social media ban for under 16s has laudable aims -- but I think there's a whole host of problems with how it's meant to work.

Nope. Not until after April this year.

I used Pharmadoc & paid at the consultation. I’ve an issue with location that meant having to factor in travel & accommodation. Until this month, the closest was a full day trip away; prior was overnight. Good luck with the search, & be careful about prepaying. Not all places are honouring the sale.

There’s definitely something wrong going on with it.

I was finally able to book and get a dose… at Tesco. (Clubcard was accepted; at £90 I am glad it does.) Pharmacist told me there’s a shortage. She has to call the supplier every morning and hope they can supply enough for her appointments.
