Turns out, nobody did! They weren’t missed, and the overriding sentiment about PD is that it’s an excellent representation of the PNW

An example from PD: our creative director (tech artist background) was adamant that we add flowers that generated at the base of trees because that’s a thing that is real in the PNW. I insisted that we not bother because, driving at speed in first person, nobody would ever notice or care.

Especially when it comes to smaller details, another thing to mention is to be honest with yourself about dev costs vs. how likely a player is to notice the detail.

I don’t unfortunately have any particular resources to point you to, but having worked on Pacific Drive and Mafia 3: do not be enticed by dogged adherence to reality. Evocative and emotionally resonant of the place is wayyy more important imo

No it doesn’t. Just kidding, I don’t mind. Genuinely curious, what’s not clicking for you? Knew as we made it that it wasn’t a game for everyone, but usually people bounce off rapidly and completely, not finding anything of value/interest, so this is a somewhat rare take!
