Don't break bread. Don't accept gifts. Make sure you spell their name right. If you're INSIDE the salt circle you're ON the record.

the rules of journalistic ethics and the rules of Faerie ethics are eerily similar

When you hear the term "BBS" do you think:

A) server, usually hosting a comments forum, that you reach by dialing a particular number using a modem
B) a website hosting a comments forum that you can use if you have any internet connection

“Things are always happening that have the potential to change you.” 🔥

"You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you."

- Miss Major, 2023 💔
One of the things I hear with some younger trans people I know is they feel, "I'm gonna get this surgery, and I'm gonna learn that way of speaking, and I'm gonna be done." You're never done. If you're a straight, cisgender person, you're never done. Things are always happening that have the potential to change you. So all I am today is not who I'm gonna be tomorrow, because of the things that happened to me today and later tonight. People forget that. "Oh, after I transition, I'm gonna be through." Well, good luck with that. 'Cause if you're through, then it's time to leave, you know, and I don't wanna go anywhere yet.
I'm in my seventies. Why didn't I stop? Number one is community. My gurls. I've had moments of thinking about stopping, but I didn't. I made sure I would step back, reju- venate myself, and then got back out there, and that's how you make a way. Our stories are not all the same, but the destination is: to get some place where we have some peace and harmony, and we can be at ease with ourselves and the people around us. You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you.

ok I gotta say a thing or two about this because I feel the idea that conquest and subjugation is the natural goal of nations is so weird

"Sapiens" is so normal for the first 70,000 years of human history but then goes absolutely buckwild as soon as it gets to colonialism
Had the Aztecs and Incas shown a bit more interest in the world surrounding them - and had they known what the Spaniards had done to their neighbours - they might have resisted the Spanish conquest more keenly and successfully.

Then we'll slowly try to edge away without looking like we're running

He lies there year after year until snow envelops him and then he lurches up, shambles down the mountain
He goes by "Parson Brown"

Corpse should be played by Jack Nicholson and it's a sequel to the Shining

Just had a great idea for a remake of Frosty the Snowman where it turns out there's just been a dead frozon corpse inside Frosty the whole time but no one realizes until Spring

Was a human after all
He was strangled dead
And they put his head
In a snowman's top snowball

The end of federal enforcement of special ed laws. Some states - including MN - will likely be ok. But a lot of disabled kids in a lot of states are going to lose the education that federal law and decades of jurisprudence say they are owed.
