If you really need to use 3d, try sketchfab, there is tons of CC Attribution licensed models ^^
but I prefer SketchUp basic model to quickly 3d sketch rough shape relying on photo refs, it's great not only for guns, but for all kind of things

a lot (like, A LOT) of photo refs to look at and study
If the perspective is hard enough like this one - royalty free or just overall free to use 3d model for perspective. then paint it by hand for several (more like 4 to 6) hours nonstop lol
