Shana tova! We wish you & your family a happy and healthy New Year.

Rosh Hashanah is a time of renewal, reflection, & joy. Families & friends gather, the shofar sounds, & sweet foods remind us to hope for a sweet year ahead.

May this New Year bring freedom, peace, and security for Jews everywhere.

September 2025 or Nazi Germany 1930s?

Seen recently in a shop window in Flensburg, Germany:

"JEWS are banned here!!!! Nothing personal, not antisemitism either, I just can't stand you."

Europe is seeing a return to the Nazi-style exclusion and dehumanization of Jews that preceded the Holocaust.

SB 771, California’s social media accountability bill, passed the Assembly and is on its way to the Governor's desk!

This bill gives Californians the power to hold social media platforms accountable when their algorithms materially contribute to violations of civil rights.

This week, Spanish PM Sánchez lamented not having nuclear weapons to use against Israel. Threatening to use nukes against Israel is inherently genocidal. His extremist antisemitic rhetoric demonizes Israel & mirrors the language of its Jihadist enemies.

Today we remember the 2,977 lives lost on 9/11/2001. We honor their memory, hold their families in our hearts, & pay tribute to the first responders whose courage inspires us. As we reflect on that pivotal moment, we are reminded that terrorism is not confined to the past or to one nation.

This morning, the IDF carried out airstrikes targeting Hamas chiefs who have until now enjoyed immunity for their terrorist crimes by living outside of Gaza. The strikes eliminated at least five members of Hamas, an organization that slaughters children, rapes women, and burns families alive.

Israel's death toll from Palestinian terrorist attacks continues to climb.

Two terrorists from the West Bank gunned down six Israeli civilians waiting for a bus near the entrance to Jerusalem this morning. Hours later, four Armored Corps soldiers fell in Gaza fighting terrorists there.

Evidence of Hamas atrocities from 10/7 continues to surface. Sabine Taasa released footage of her ex-husband Gil being murdered in front of their sons. Silence is complicity while Hamas glorifies murder & continues to hold hostages.

"Denying music fans the right to be proud of their nationality is discriminatory and dehumanizing. What Martin offered on his stage wasn’t inclusion and bridge-building; it was condescension, selective denigration, and segregation based on nationality." Read the statement: https://bit.ly/3VsJfj1

Today, the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) held a press conference with the family of 21-year-old hostage Rom Braslavski, who was abducted from the Nova festival on Oct 7. His family and SWC urged the ICRC and world leaders to provide immediate care for the hostages and take action for their release.

The true mark of terrorism is absence: the empty chairs at tables, the voices it silences, and the grief and sorrow that never fades.

Today, on the International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, we remember the lives taken by Hamas on 10/7. We also honor the survivors.

The IDF brought home the body of slain Thai hostage Nattapong Pinta, 35, who was abducted on 10/7/23 & held captive in Gaza by terrorists.

He worked in Nir Oz’s avocado fields & leaves behind his wife & their 9-year-old son.

He is remembered as someone who was always smiling & ready to help.

“We’ve been kidnapped,” said Greta Thunberg from the Madleen ship, after Israeli forces peacefully boarded & redirected it to Israel. Passengers were given food & water & will return home safely.

@gretathunberg, real hostages have been starved, brutalized, & look like Holocaust survivors.

It’s terrifying that NY Congressman Ritchie Torres is facing death threats for defending the Jewish community. Antisemitism isn’t just spiking—it’s morphing into terrorism. Jews and their allies are being targeted for speaking up and speaking the truth.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center stands with the Jewish community of Colorado and with every community now living in fear because hatred of Jews has once again resulted in physical violence against Jews. Silence and inaction in the face of this onslaught is complicity.

We are grateful to Colorado law enforcement for stopping what could have been a catastrophic loss of life, but police cannot carry this burden alone. Our political, academic, and civic leaders must finally meet this moment with unflinching clarity, action, and policy.

The nonstop demonization of Israel and Zionism on our campuses, in our streets, and across digital platforms has created a climate where hate flourishes and physical attacks—even murder—of Jews is inevitable.”

“Both attacks are the direct result of months of anti-Israel propaganda, moral equivocation, and silence in the face of raging antisemitism.

On May 21, two Israeli Embassy staffers were gunned down in cold blood in Washington, D.C., and now the extremist violence has come to Boulder, CO,” said Simon Wiesenthal Center CEO Jim Berk.

“This marks the second violent assault on Jewish and pro-Israel civilians in the U.S. in less than two weeks—a chilling escalation that cannot be dismissed as coincidence.

This afternoon in Boulder, Colorado, a man threw a Molotov cocktail into a peaceful solidarity walk calling for the release of 58 hostages still held by Hamas—a humanitarian cause that should unite, not divide.
