📣 I will take up a Professorship at @uni-freiburg.de, Faculty of Biology. With amazing funding news coming in, we'll be in a position to establish a major research program around Epigenetics, Signaling and Synthetic Biology at the Signalhaus @cibss.bsky.social. More news and job ads to come soon!
... (think causation vs correlation, replicate number and statistical support). We should not feel urged to make extraordinary claims to land a high 'originality' score, instead AI should be an instrument that can match the text with that the data really allows to claim and flag overinterpretation.
This is very cool @odedrechavi.bsky.social. Do I understand correctly that it works with the text of the manuscript, not with figures or data? My concern with current production rate is that papers may be written skilfully and claims are clear, but they are not adequately supported by the data...
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT📣: I haven’t been this excited to be part of something new in 15 years… Thrilled to reveal the passion project I’ve been working on for the past year and a half!🙀🥳 (thread 👇)

Deeply grateful to @carlzeissstiftung.bsky.social, I'm very much looking forward to realising this ambitious, long term project with your support. An thank you for the little CARL ZEISS I received with my mail today, he's already on top of his first experiments in our lab at @uni-freiburg.de 😀

😂 exactly what I thought when I enjoyed the Black Forest view from the rectorate, which previously was only a promise behind the fog and rain
#Jobalert 🚨: looking for a #computationalbiology expert with track record in analysis, integration and interpretation of #omics datasets, in particular #epigenomics, #singlecellgenomics, #proteomics data. uni-freiburg.de/stellenangeb... short deadline 30th September!

Congratulations Koichi Sato and @puckknipscheer.bsky.social for a biochemistry tour de force! Sooo many in vitro experiments, pinning down step by step a mechanism to resolve G4 structures. We used KOs and quantitative G4 CUT&Tag to corroborate mechanism in mouse ESC.

Fantastic collaboration with @puckknipscheer.bsky.social 👏! Congrats to all!
New work from the Knipscheer group published in @science.org reveals a mechanism involving RNA and DNA repair proteins that helps cells remove G-quadruplex structures. G4 structures are knot-like formations in DNA that can cause damage if left unresolved. www.hubrecht.eu/cells-untie-dna-knots/

Finally found it! researchagora.com, very interesting development, will try it out
I found DeCci Labs desci.com, looks interesting, but exactly what I am remembering
also anyone with an apt/house for rent in #freiburg, 4+ rooms, preferably Herdern, Güterbahnhof, Wiehre, ANY time, ANY price, SEND IT MY WAY
Incredibly grateful for this tremendous recognition by @humboldt-foundation.de and not possible without the strongest support from @uni-freiburg.de and many previous funding bodies that made our research possible

Do you have to cut the top to get flowers? Or is it just the right climate? Stockholm = no flowers
Do you sometimes feel research is 🎶 on step forward and two steps back 🎶? Well the good thing about a marathon is that no matter how slow you go, you are always getting closer to the finish line 😅. #stockholmmarathon ✌️
We are looking for MSc students interested in joining us for a bioinformatics thesis project. The task is to analyze existing epigenomics datasets, explore data from different technical and biological angles, generate reproducible code and figures to be incorporated into manuscripts #jobalert
a bit like www.micropublication.org but much more advanced features and slick design! If only I had asked for her number 💔#openscience
hoping for swarm intelligence: came across a new publishing platform that allowed to publish small experiment units or attach new experiments to existing publications (e.g. 'this result confirms figure 3A in paper X'), together community peer review. Problem: I can't find the website anymore. HELP!
