I generally didn’t have a cosplay Twitter but who cares I’m on this app now yay! I’m Jaxx a perpetually struggling cosplayer living in NY sometimes I do latex stuff other times I do silly cosplays I do it all for fun. I’ll try to make an effort to post regularly here. After a few months passed I reached back out about doing a different cosplay and got blocked right away. No explanation from them just blocked right there. I never was rude to them in all that time or called them out, but I definitely was like wtf? Ultimately I never did get to shoot with them

This is where things get more fishy months went by and never heard back from them to reschedule even though they had time to shoot with other cosplayers. I didn’t really know what their intents were but then I felt I wasn’t really worth their time which is sadly something I’ve dealt with in cosplay

Since a few mutuals called out a particular cosplay photographer on IG wanted to state a few years back I nearly shot with this photographer in Brooklyn since I loved their work reached out to them and even settled on a nice spot but ultimately they were busy with work and the shoot never happened

I get work commitments and priorities and even the dreaded tariffs above all I’m very patient when it comes to reaching out to others but at the same time it feels depressing never hearing from someone I look up to, which I will admit is understandable

Commissioning anything for cosplay feels like a losing battle for me at this stage of my ‘career’ imo; a helmet I ordered for Rei’s missing in transit not even sure what the status is on a new Rei suit I ordered, and even reaching out to makers I’ve never done from before can be a real struggle

first real day of anyc for me since I skipped thursday for work heres the only real shot I took with my Miku cosplay since I was only there for 2 or so hours saw a few I know but that was really it praying I get some fun being Star tomorrow

Trying to fly home yesterday with fam after our Florida trip was a colossal mess ended up jumping from Jacksonville to Charlotte and then finally Hartford, all because the thunderstorms here in NY were causing havoc with air traffic control. Only managed to get home around 5am still having migraines

I’m kinda concerned about doing more pricey commissions mainly bc my funds are a bit constrained at the moment but even more concerned if it’ll be even worth it in the end like I love doing unique cosplays though my motivation has been taking a dive lately.
