His first child being Star Battle in 1981, to his last one being Breath of the Wild in 2017.

From being a creator, to programmer, producer, consultant, and leader, he was a warrior fighting to keep games alive.
He didn’t have any kids, but considered the games he worked on and the people he worked with to be his family.
Even after finding out he had a tumor in his bile duct and was unable to attend E3 2014, he still gave it his all from October 2014 to July 2015.

People noticed his significant weight loss and started gaining concern.
After the markdown of the 3DS and financial failure of the Wii U era, he took a pay cut up to 67% so that employees wouldn’t get laid off and out of a job.

Iwata chose to face the company’s loss himself rather than blame his employees.
To this day, his friends in the industry still carry his vision of giving updates ‘directly.’
