INTRODUCTION
On the 2lst of September 2019, two married couples
- Jason and Aisling Wilson, and Brendan and Rebecca Cooper - attended a dinner party at the home of a third couple, Freddie and Nadine Taylor.
Sometime between 8pm that evening, when Nadine called her twin eight-year-old sons at their grandmother's house to wish them goodnight, and 7.30am the following morning, when the Taylors' gardener Dev Thakar entered his employers' kitchen and encountered the bloodbath inside, all six were murdered.
No bodies - no full, intact bodies — were found at the house. A number of body parts, however, were found in and around the kitchen and dining room, which subsequent DNA sampling confirmed as belonging to the Tay-lors, the Coopers and the Wilsons.
Much has already been written about the details of Mr Thakar's discovery and the police investigation

that followed, often in forensic detail, and I have little to add to what's been documented. It is however, and with apologies to those readers who may find such detail ditticult to stomach, incumbent on me to give a brief inventory of the body parts left behind, if only to more accurately set the scene.
Under the dining table, in a pool of their own congealed blood, lay a portion of the severed tongue of Aisling Wilson and the raggedly removed left hand of her husband, the latter still wearing its rose gold wedding band. A surgical-grade scalpel had been used to extract Aisling's tongue; Jason's hand, meanwhile, had been separated from the wrist with a meat cleaver or similarly sharp butcher's implement.-
Forensic pathologists later determined that the same sharp blade had been used to amputate Rebecca Cooper's feet, both of which Mr Thakar found placed by the back door beside a pile of the Taylors' outdoor shoes: a particularly grisly visual gag on the killer's part. Brendan Cooper's penis and testicles, conversely, had been removed with a duller blade, most likely a bread knife, and deposited in the food bowl of the Taylors' Alaskan Malamute, Augustus - also missing since the time of the
