Mine was a critical thing related to the complications. Wasn’t a great time! Just hope for no complications this time (not that the cataract was a cause of complications, rather an outcome). I now have a date in the new year.

I’ve been puzzling over your “seeing at a distance” … realise that when you have both dove around the same time they “reset” to zero. Because I only had one in 2012 they had to match the other (v long sighted) one. Now they’ll have to match again so always destined for specs!

I had one done already, in Nov 2012, in the eye that has little sight after optic nerve damage post retinal detachment. This is my “good” eye that’s deteriorating. Obvs with our circumstances it’s so important for me to have best sight possible. Will report back!

An early start for me as off to see the ophthalmologist in Perigueux. Will be discussing dealing with a cataract which is beginning to impede my sight.

I have just seen my first skein of grue (cranes) flying south directly overhead
We are on the route of their migration
Actually you don’t see them first, you hear them
It’s a wondrous sight at which we always marvel
Virtually impossible to photograph unless they are flying low which these weren’t

More pool action this afternoon; making the most of this mid-October Indian summer
Water temperature will plummet (because of the colder nights) as soon as we switch off the heat pump
In the meantime it remains at 29. Very nice too

Oh Liz that’s ridiculous. Can he get the Covid jab privately? I used to go to a travel clinic and pay to get my flu jabs before I hit the magic age.

Off to our local pharmacie to book our flu & Covid jabs. It’s all so easy here in France. Another warm and sunny day in prospect. There will be gardening and there will be pool time later.
