Oh it was so surreal to explain to her like. The history of fandom and ye old days of mailing Star Trek fanfic but that’s just not her wheelhouse. I think I disappointed her a lot when I turned out to be such a nerd 😅

My mom is like. Very very different than me. She was a stoner in high school, very mainstream, makes fun of me for being into anime and D&D etc but like. I had to explain to her what fanfic is and what tropes are 😭
