Many English Soccer Kit Wallpapers Updated
I've updated the English Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two desktop wallpaper collections/tabs for 2025-26. Unbelievably, this is the 10th year that I have done this. It stated back then because I was not happy with the different wallpaper designs/options for the teams that I support. In addition, I really liked the unique designs that appeared on different team uniforms/kits and was surprised that I could not find computer wallpapers that reflected those designs.

All The Words on NYC Signage
An absolutely spectacular project from The Pudding. They basically did a text/word/phrase scan of all the public Google Maps images of the five boroughs of NYC to find out what were the most used words and phrases in the city. And the results are incredible. The scale of the data is immense: over 8 million Google Street View images (from the past 18 years) and 138 million identified snippets of text.

Top Movies of the 21st Century
Nice and relatively well edited/selected list of the Top 100 Movies of the 21st Century from the NY Times. As you can see from the above image, I am proud to report that as of today, I've seen 62 of these fine feature films. For what it is worth, there are several of the remaining 38 that are on my 'to watch' list which would have brought that total up a bit higher.

May The Schwartz Be With You
The ageless wonder Mel Brooks announced that they are making "Spaceballs 2" with a pretty funny reveal video. The original is a hilarious spoof of the Star Wars universe, featuring such characters as Yogurt, Dark Helmet and Colonel Sandurz and such classic cheesy humor lines like "May the Schwartz be with you.", "She gives great helmet.", and "Prepare ship for ludicrous speed!" to name a few.

Top Goals in EPL This Season
Some amazing goals from the past year in the EPL. Happy to see this collection being led off by an Anthony Gordon goal from my favorite team Newcastle United. Its been a great season for NUFC, winning the Carabao (League) Cup (Newcastle's first domestic trophy in 70 (!!) years) and qualifying (barely) for European Champions League (second time in three years!).

Monty Python and the Holy Grail Turns 50
Fifty years on, the classic absurdist comedy film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" still holds up as one of the funniest movies of all time. A fun article from the BBC interviews Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam as they recall how they and the rest of the iconic comedy troupe created the comedy classic: An independent British comedy made on a shoestring by a television sketch troupe?

Heather Cox Richardson Speaking at Lantern Service Celebrating 250th Anniversary of “Two If By Sea”
This past Friday, at Boston's Old North Church, there was a "Lantern Service" commemorating the 250th anniversary of the famous "Two If By Sea" signal noting how the British Army was arriving in Boston on the eve of the American Revolution. The whole service and video is about 2 and a half hours long. I've shared the video to start at Professor Richardson's speech, which is about 25 minutes long.
