TTRPGer, excellent cook, barely managing dad, home maker, internet ditherer, Philadelphian. Anti-chud. Here for rad art, cool ideas about RPGs, and to harass OSR luminaries with posts about food. He/him

Actually I looked it up and OD&D doesn't make it explicit. Probably one of the supplements or Ad&D1E.

Amazon web services are down, which means you can't access the little guys like Starbucks, Venmo, and IMDB.

But Explorers Design? Still up alongside other fine rpg purveyors of theory slop and goblin gaming.

Sure, but EGG and Arneson borrowed from the same source (plus a few more) a decade earlier.
This looks delicious, but people thinking cheese belongs on every pizza is a blight on society.
I mean, Gygax and Arneson pretty unambiguously stated that Law and Chaos mapped to Good and Evil, so I don't think we can lay ALL the blame at GW's feet. As much as I love blaming them for things.
Depends how many slices you eat. Also please God tell me there's no cheese on that.

My contribution to the proud tradition of trying to understand alignment languages. I discuss why speaking alignment languages in AD&D is socially taboo, how then they are meant to be used to identify creatures with a common ethos, & what this suggests about what alignment language actually is:
Alignment Languages are Socially Repulsive
In my last post on languages in AD&D , I teased that alignment languages were a topic worthy of their own post. Was I right? Let's find out....

I know there's been some concern that we haven't done the meme yet, but c'mon would we let you down? so here we go, freshly updated for issue 7 (now please buy a copy, thanks)
I like Cable about 40% of the time. I quite enjoyed Cable/Deadpool aside from finding Deadpool pretty annoying.
Ok, I'll pick Hellions back up post X of Swords.
Kirhon, are you planning on having the world be a megadungeon?
And Havok himself isn't particularly compelling here.

Other books (X-Factor, X-Corp, Wolverine ,Cable, Children of the Atom) I haven't been reading. Lack of interest, or my library doesn't have them digitally.
But it just feels so tawdry. Also really disliking the way they're using Colossus here. Maybe there'll be a payoff that makes it somewhat satisfying, but I'm expecting it to be even more frustrating as it continues.

Hellions: I dropped, boring. Aside from Havok I don't care about these characters.
And then we have X-Force. It feels like this book is the most/second most important book in terms of driving the story, which is the only reason I'm still reading it. I *HATE* this take on Beast. I understand that the point of the book is that nations do horrible things for survival...
Slowly making my way through the Krakoan Age of X-books and I'm getting toward the end of year two "Reign of X". Excalibur: meh. Highs and lows
Marauders: surprisingly fun
New Mutants: very good
X-Men: consistent favorite
S.W.O.R.D.: have to read the 2nd volume, good not great.
