Roy De Forest was one of a group of artists whose work developed around a personal iconography that became identified in the 1960s and 70s as Bay Area Funk. The title of this varnished polymer on canvas refers to Zane Grey (1872–1939) the author of many popular novels about the Old West.
Air France was founded #onthisday in 1933. Did you know the symbol of Air France is the winged seahorse? Originally the logo of Air Orient, which merged into Air France in 1933, the seahorse with wings represented the union of sea and sky, a visual metaphor for the company's flying boats. #52menus
