Today we take a bold step to protect moms, daughters, and communities of color by banning toxic chemicals in hair relaxers. Thank you, Governor Newsom, for helping California lead the way!

Today we celebrate #InternationalDayOfTheGirl. A reminder of the power, brilliance, and resilience of girls everywhere. When girls are supported and empowered, communities thrive and our world moves forward. I’m proud to stand with every girl who dares to dream big and break barriers.

I’m proud to share that Gov. Newsom signed my bill, SB 646. This is the first law in the nation requiring prenatal vitamins to be tested for and disclose heavy metals.

Thank you, @governor.ca.gov, for standing with moms and babies and keeping California a leader in maternal health!

California has taken a historic step toward justice. With the signing of my bill SB 518, @governor.ca.gov has established the Bureau for Descendants of American Slavery, making California the first state in the nation to create a permanent agency dedicated to reparative justice for Black Americans.

@governor.ca.gov has officially signed SB 39 into law!

SB 39 delays the ban on vaginal suppositories containing boric acid until 2035, while requiring warning labels starting in 2027 to better inform consumers. This is just one of many more of my bills we expect to see signed into law this session.

The government shutdown is the result of failed leadership by President Trump and Republican leaders in Congress. Instead of ensuring stability and meeting Americans’ needs, they have chosen partisan politics over people’s lives.

🎖️ Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the brave service members who were prisoners of war and those still missing in action.

Their sacrifice — and the strength of their families — remind us that freedom comes at a great cost.

You are not forgotten.
