College debt has financially crippled a huge chunk of my generation, and it’s not just bad for us—it’s bad for the economy. We don’t buy houses, we don’t invest in the stock market, we can’t afford to have kids. Republicans aren’t only hobbling us—they’re shooting the entire country in the foot.

I took out both private and public student loans to pay for undergrad. My private loans had insanely high interest, while my federal loans have a low interest rate that has made my repayments vastly more manageable. This move is devastating—and downright cruel.

Finally watching “The Pitt.” It’s an amazing show for a lot of reasons, but I specifically want to shout out its accurate, no-nonsense depiction of the doctors treating a type 1 diabetic for hypoglycemia. It’s so rare that TV and movies get even the basic facts right, let alone the minutiae.

Thinking about this passage from @jarodkanderson.bsky.social’s “Something in the Woods Loves You” as I continue my job search. When I was younger and journalism was less broken, I used to find a sense of purpose in my work, because it *meant* something to me. I don’t know the last time I felt that.
