The Carlmont High School drama program recently performed its production of “Blue Stockings” by Jessica Swale.

There were four performances, taking place from Oct. 23 to Oct. 26, with the play promoting themes of gender equality, reform, and nonconformity.
Candy corn is a very popular Halloween candy, and around 35 million pounds of candy corn are sold each year.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the original name for candy corn was “Chicken Feed?”

Today is National Candy Corn Day!

Candy corn is believed to have been invented in the 1880s by George Renninger, a worker at Wunderle Candy Company. Candy corn is made up of sugar and corn syrup, and it consists of three colored tiers (white, orange, and yellow).
At Boos and Brews on B Street, children could trick-or-treat with local businesses or enjoy a range of family-friendly attractions, including photo booths, mini pumpkin decorating, and inflatable axe-throwing. Meanwhile, parents sampled drinks from the event’s mobile brewery.
The familiar, catchy sound of “Monster Mash” filled the Pedestrian Mall in San Mateo, attracting families from across the area for an afternoon of Halloween fun.

The team’s recent win is partly due to the supportive team bond, inspiring leadership, and a hunger to win, following the varsity girls’ flag football team’s loss before the JV team’s game.

Carlmont’s JV girls flag football became Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) champions after defeating the Aragon Dons 24-0 on Oct. 22. This is the second year in a row that the JV girls flag football team won PALs, and the team’s thirteenth win of the season.
They are available in many forms, including popular dishes such as French fries and mashed potatoes, and are also a key ingredient in various salads and soups.
