Grijalva doesn't even need Johnson to swear her in. Any Federal Judge in the country can swear in a member of Congress.

Any Federal Judge can swear in a member of Congress. You don't need Speaker Johnson to swear you in. Bypass him entirely. I'm sure there are 3 women in a certain federal court in DC that would love to do the honor.

Unfortunately for us, their best "interest" is cruelty. They didn't vote for him because they thought they would personally gain. They voted for him because other people would suffer, and for them, that was a better offer.

Waiting untill the midterms to regain control was always going to be a losing strategy.

Even if we do manage to regain the House or the Senate in 2027, the damage is already done.

It will take literal generations to rebuild what they destroyed in months. (2/2)

When Trump said "Drain the Swamp" he never meant "End Corruption in Government".

He always meant "Destroy the Institutions of Government".

People seen to think telling LEOs that you know your rights is like some magic wand where they'll immediately stop violating your rights. Which isn't true.

The most important right people need to know when dealing with all cops is to shut the fuck up. Everything you say will be used against you.

You can tell the agents that they don't have the right to arrest you while they're arresting you. They won't care. If you're lucky, you can sue them after. Assuming you can afford a lawyer.

Also, SCOTUS ruled that "probable cause" is whatever they want it to be.

You can certainly attempt to exercise your constitutional rights. They will simply exercise their ability to make you wait as long as they think they can get away with before "releasing"you. Expect that to be several hours of you waiting in the back of a DHS vehicle without A/C, water, or a restroom

Every coast line is technically a "border" and DHS has the right to arrest anyone within 100 miles of the border, for any reason. They can also search any vehicle for any reason without a warrant within 100 miles of any border.

But also, since when have ICE ever cared about laws?

Grand Juries do not have the defense attorney present to question potential jurors and remove jurors with obvious bias against the defendant, or refute any evidence presented.

A: Only as it applies to them, personally. They couldn't care less about the rights of other people. They view rights like they view everything else in life, like pie - in order for them to have any, everyone else must have less (or, preferably, none).

That is the crux of why we are where we are as a nation. The vast majority of people will never care about any issue until they are personally harmed by it.

The only way to get enough people to care is to make it so that as many people are affected as possible.

It means they're being cruel because they enjoy being cruel. They love making other people suffer. They take joy in the pain of others.
