A favorite tactic to discredit #science is to try and drag it down as just another “belief” system.

So, I would take a minute during my demos to explain to my audiences the difference between gathering, evaluating and presenting evidence and “belief”, telling them how:

One of my earliest heroes. Like The Phantom, Robin Hood and Tarzan, I preferred the ones w skills over powers.

This is what made the episode of Lost In Space where Professor Robinson duels w the alien dad, so fun.

It’s long been a tactic of Republicans to cause the problems they then blame on Democrats and liberals.

They’ve stepped it up with trying to deliberately incite violence by claiming self-defense as “antifa attacks on law enforcement.”

And Republicans continue to do nothing.

I remember that.
It was UC Davis, back in the 2010s.

Couldn’t help thinking that the fathers of those students should have kicked the shit out of that campus cop.

Like BLM, it was a precursor of what we have now with psychopaths hiding behind badges while attacking unarmed people

Those of us from Virginia, where Jamestown was established 13 years before the Mayflower ever set sail, feel the same way about the persistent myth that our country was created by “pilgrims seeking religious freedom.”

Moderate. Kinda slacked off this year, but we still frequently walk the trails on Cranberry Lake.

I’ve been wanting to explore the lower trails from the Burrows Bay overlook, and around Gooseneck Rock(?) by Deception Pass. My wife is not as confident about getting around on those.

Watching (older) episodes of Rick Steves in Amsterdam and in Copenhagen, and feeling some serious envy.

Of course, now, whenever he mentions how a city or country was once the pinnacle of western civilization, I think how we’re now part of that list.

Quite accurate.
The breezes off the water are starting to get chilly, when we walk in the evenings, and it gets my wife sneezing and her eyes tearing up.

Ya wanna go OG, you can call it Luna or Selene.

But yeah, ever since Galileo saw those 4 little dots near Jupiter, it’s been inaccurate to even say “*the* moon.”

Had to be careful to say “our Moon” or “Earth’s Moon” and not call the others “planets” during my demos.
