Probably Kowloonside then. I’ve a soft spot for the hipster bits of West Kowloon but if you just want to stay in the thick of It then look at places from TST up to Prince Edward (Eaton, Luxe Manor, etc)

depends on your budget and what you want to see (how close to the action or if you want more relaxing countryside and beaches)

Interesting to hear about new work on a new FAIR4ML vocab and model development doi.org/10.5281/zeno...

Will need to look out for a new automated checking tool coming our shortly. Dan mentioned DOME, which have been the standards and tools we've been testing (and I presented on yesterday) #IDW2025

Watching along to @danielskatz.org presenting an update on the RDA FAIR for Machine Learning (FAIR4ML) IG. The focus today being FAIR for ML models: seeing how FAIR principles fit with the ML lifecycle at #DW2025 www.rd-alliance.org/groups/fair-...

Mind-blowing talk from Lynn Woolfrey in the #IDW2025 "Rigorous, responsible and reproducible science in the era of FAIR data and AI" session on how DataFirst's expertise in data rescue projects in Africa has lead to it stepping in to rescue data from US government funded education projects

You can read the associated preprint covering this topic in more detail here doi.org/10.31222/osf... #IDW2025

Thanks Kristi! Was a good session I thought, though I would have much rather done it in person and been able to see and talk to the audience. And go to the "social billabong" with you after

Interesting research lifecycle model for Agentic AI in the RDA Plenary Session of #IDW2025, Microsoft working with RDA and are asking for input on roles and where to prioritize development of AI agents in research

Have the video of case-study on standards and tools for publishing ML research I've just presented in the #IDW2025

Will be presenting a case-study in the #IDW2025
"Bridging the FAIR gap: transforming the long tail of supplementary data & generalist repositories into FAIR datasets" session currently underway in M3. Starting with setting on the challenges of supplemental files scidatacon.org/event/9/cont...

It's nice still being able to keep up with what is going on online but wish I was there too!

Another plug of @makedatacount.bsky.social metrics in the #IDW2025 GREI track by @mjbuys.bsky.social. Stressing the need for normalised usage counts across repositories, which is great as MDC and DataCite have created a standard tool for this
scedmunds.bsky.social
Mark Hahnel presenting on GREI work on metadata. As a NIH funded project its no suprise they recommend MESH for subject headings. It makes sense for NIH funded work, but not necessarily for other fields. If PANGAEA was included in GREI would probably see different recommendations #IDW2025
scedmunds.bsky.social
Nice to see @kristiholmes.bsky.social being a good @makedatacount.bsky.social Advisor and giving the MDC best practices a plug in the GREI #IDW2025 track. The GREI repositories integration of the MDC/DataCite Usage Tracker has been very useful to align and standarise metrics

Watching the #IDW2025 GREI "Stronger together: Advancing the data repository ecosystem through strategic coopetition" track online, and very disappointed I couldn't participate in person in the end (I was supposed to present a case study for Dryad) scidatacon.org/event/9/cont...

Interesting #IDW2025 talk from Jennifer Gu from HKUST Library studying Data Availability Statements in their institutions papers. Interesting they see a clearer citation advantage having a DAS than #OA compliance

Just seen the SCMP journalist who attended our @cassyni.bsky.social webinar last month just published on it www.scmp.com/news/china/s...

This is a great use case for Cassyni, as both times we promoted linked webinars in Press Releases we got journalists attending and writing articles on the papers

Thank you OBF (and especially Taz) for this lovely post about the GigaScience team. I've been going to your #BOSC meetings since 2011 and will miss catching up with you all each summer, but hopefully it's not goodbye!
