Jess clearly doesn't know that most of the curries, along with Chinese/Thai dishes served in the UK, have been Anglicised, all so English taste buds could cope. You'd never find the same in those countries!

This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. My late husband did the Life in the UK test, and I read the book and consequently learned stuff I'd never learned in school (in 🇿🇦), which very much taught English history as part of their history curriculum, the partition of Ireland being one such example.

Hhmmm, so how does one achieve literacy without learning the language, aka, "language lessons"? As a foreigner, I'm always bemused by the insistence us 'forrin-types" need to have perfect literacy skills, while the local population can poorly speak/ write their way through life and judge us badly. 🙄

Same with the 'Life in the UK' test that you have to take if you want to become a citizen... there are many Brits who'd fail it. But never mind, eh? I put my son through the UK education system in the late 90s, early 00s, and was quite shocked at the opt-out options at A-Level, especially English!

Stay Weird Portland! 🔥 Today Portland had an emergency naked bike ride to the ICE facility. IN THE RAIN.

It was around 50°. Thousands were fully nude, half nude, or wearing costumes.

Portland is VERY dedicated to exposing the absurdities of injustice.

Segregation was alive and well in the 80s. He is only fucked off to avoid national conscription, which ended in '94, like a lot of rich white boys. 🙄
