A contract for Christmas! Thrilled to share that my second full-length collection of poems, Bloodstream, has been accepted for publication by Mercer University Press! Target release date is Spring/Summer 2026. More to come in the months ahead!
Be gentle with yourself!
Wow, that's ambitious! Good for you. Gorgeous scenery!
Tonight! One hour! I am SO excited about this...
Appalling and chilling.
oooh following, I just wrote a sonnenizio with the word proprioception in it & basically the concept is loss of moorings so interested in the responses you get here.
Crazy about her work & new book. Thank you for sharing, will try to make it!
This is such a good book!!
I won't lie. Prepping a book for publication is stressful! But it's happening, y'all. Bloodstream, my second full-length collection of poems, is in the final stages of proofing. I am so excited! More info about publication ETA & a planned book launch when I'm able to share!
Thrilled to share that I'll be reading from my book, The Grief Committee Minutes, at @thelynxbooks.bsky.social on Oct. 2 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. with Eric Doise, who'll read from his late wife, Saara Raappana's book, Chamber After Chamber. From Gainesville or nearby? Hope you can make it!
I agree with this, and have often found poems generated when I'm feeling fuller in my life are better because of it
I so identify with this.
Working with a copyeditor on the 1st pages of Bloodstream, my new poetry collection, forthcoming from Mercer U Press in spring-summer 2026! Exciting but stressful, too, coming so close on the heels of my 1st book. If anyone is interested in doing a review, let me know! 🙏🙏
👏👏👏a big deal.
Yesterday, an editor I've worked with in the past, tho not for years, accepted every poem I sent her, including one from my new book, Bloodstream (forthcoming from Mercer U Press in 2026) which I was thrilled to place. It was so validating. Words to savor during the down times.
I remember your saying something about this at AWP. Such an awesome commitment & project!
Chelsea, you are always so generous about sharing the work of others. I would love to see a new Chelsea poem sometime soon! xoxo
I first crossed paths with former Alabama poet laureate Jennifer Horne about 5 years ago, when @alinaetc.bsky.social did a joint review of two of our books for the sadly now-defunct New Southern Fugitives journal. We reconnected recently & traded books. Excited for this beauty!
@mitchnobis.bsky.social 's recent post inspires me to share this poem from his debut collection, The Size of the Horizon, or, I Explained Everything to the Trees. So much heart here, & I'm just getting started...
✨I'm so glad you liked TGCM, Mitch! That means the world!
Tom, thank YOU so much for chiming in with this comment, which served to remind me of her work & now means I need to go find more of it. Great recs. I'm on it!
