And of course you can expect more bird posts from me 😃

I'll be writing a lot more alt text than I usually do. ☺️

Good morning from my bird and I. 🐥

I didn't know how to "break the news" 😅 but I'm a bird mom again. And this little guy is all grown up and not a baby. He's already supervising and reviewing all course-related work. You may even get to hear him in the background of new chapter recordings! 🥰

It may not be obvious from the angle this video is taken from but he's so relaxed that he's lifting one foot off... "the ground" (a.k.a. my thumb). It's like he's doing a standing tree yoga pose. He's also soooooo warm it's like I have a small heater sitting on my thumb. 🥰

He wishes you a good day.

Frontenders, I am *begging* you to earn whatever pride you take in your work. How? By testing what you make on the devices and networks most people have. It's not hard, doesn't take long, and there are great automations like webpagetest.org that can make it even simpler.

This post by the good folks at @tetralogical.com is a fantastic article that debunks common misconceptions about screen readers (and their users)

Common misconceptions about screen readers - TetraLogical
Screen readers are familiar to many in digital, but how they work in practice can be less clear. In this post, we shed some light on the topic.

In my conversation with @kevinpowell.co a few weeks ago I mentioned that one of the ways to get people to care about #accessibility is to help them understand it better. And one way to help them understand it better is to debunk common accessibility myths.

I did not see that coming

This talk by @nerdy.dev is a wonderful presentation of why CSS is awesome and why we love it so much www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW6G...

Just look at what's possible with #CSS today

And the format is great for the impatient ones (myself included). Right speed, right transitions (pun intended 😉)

Posting this using @vivaldi.com for the first time.

I'm curious to see what the Vivaldi user experience is like. It looks promising.

Haha I don't know if we're making it easier for them to decide or not 😂

The SC talks about _text labels_ matching accessible names. Icons are not text labels so the SC doesn't apply as far as I know. But see advisory techniques here www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/U... with regards to an icon's "hover text"

I loved this, except for the part where Jeremy suggests using the CSS carousel pseudo-elements knowing how problematic they still are for users. :/

This is such a great idea. I just chose and ranked my favorite 15 features in the list—primarily CSS and HTML features of course. interop-rank.jakearchibald.com

As an experiment, we (the Firefox team) wanted to try a new way to get feedback on which Interop proposals matter most.

So, here's a web app where you can rank the proposals you care about, giving us data we can use when reviewing which ones to champion.
