I disagree. Some things like slavery, are always wrong. Even in the 1600s and 1700s some people, mostly Quakers, were emancipating even when it was illegal to do so.
Some people just know what wrong is The rest are a bunch of weak ass wankers.
I also think the church's attitude about any sex at all being a sin is the problem. They made it so the only people that would become priests were the ones that did not want sex with a woman or an adult man. The repression made the whole church sick.
I actually disagree. Many of my catholic brothers were flaming gay but some were also victims who became predators. It's the shifty gift that keeps on giving. The seminaries were supposedly continuous orgies.
