#SciFiHour Yeah the numbers are big IIRC Nvdia invested 100$Billion in OpenAI so that it could buy that many $ of chips of it & compute is now talked of in Gigawatts of power with Elon suggesting he will be first to have a Terawatt of compute

#SciFiHour Yeah there have been some interesting results I think we will find out about existing with AGI on a par with us by the end of this decade & probably if SAGI has read & liked the Culture books by the end of the next Decade as I say🤞& hope for the best maybe a comfortable gilded cage 😜

#SciFiHour I know he wrote a lot of books both fiction & non fiction science books but I don't remember a lot of adaptions it took a long time for the Foundation series to get made unless there were others i missed

#SciFiHour I had this conversation today on my walk along the canal & my hope is that if AI does get super intelligent then it will do the calculation that it it is best to cooperate in a more symbiotic relationship with humanity not that it will make us all safe as it evolves but i have hope🤞

#SciFiHour I do hope Mel Brooks lives long enough to complete the sequel IIRC it would be Telegram from the King by the proposed releasee date & they apparently got Rick M out of retirement for it. Maybe I should rewatch Mars Attacks

#SciFiHour IIRC I think the vinyl was slightly different from the Radio series as well as the book I still have the series on cassette tape somewhere maybe I should re-listen I think it was 1st on in late 70s
