the dev version really reminds me of Ballance from the mid ‘00s
TIL that I’m squarely in the refresh rate > resolution camp.

I’d trade down to 163.2ppi (4k 27in) to get 120hz
love the lego macintosh!!!

If you're eligible to vote in the upcoming NixOS SC election, I've built a tool to help quickly browse through the candidates and their responses to community questions.

I hope this helps you find the candidates you align with.

Nothing that can't be solved by a quick chat with an enterprising local who owns a Mitsubishi Delica 😉

I've heard lots of stories of rockfalls though, even on the road to Mestia. So stay safe!

Ushguli:
We did a day trip in the winter and the drive was easy. Not sure what the road is like in the summer.

Serene landscape. Very traditional village. Incredible view from the tower on the hill, if you can bear the climb. Otherwise, not too much to do. Hiking and horseback riding.

Tips for Mestia:
* Lushnu Kor for food
* KRK bar to hang out
* Margiani house – a must-see time capsule of a traditional Svaneti home. Ping if you need help getting hold of the guide.
* Ethnographic museum – also worth going. Modern building, modestly sized. Surprising stuff on display.

I really miss Mestia. We were supposed to go for a week for a spot of skiing/wife's work back in January; ended up staying for over a month 🙈

Well said!

Have you been to Svaneti yet?

I was surprised to learn that this was made by Tsereteli. He’s well-known in the post-soviet space for making utter hot garbage. This megalithic thing is epic though. May as well have been built by a civilization of ancient space-faring kvartvelebi.

I want to start integrating the new container framework into one of our products at work, but I think I'm going to wait until some of the UI stuff is (hopefully) ironed out.

pretty wild turnout for a technology that felt so niche just 3 years ago.

and I really enjoyed watching someone else present about devenv for a change! thanks @jm2dev.bsky.social
Great to see all that interest for #Nix at yesterday’s Valencia Codes Level Up meetup.

Many thanks to Deutsche Telekom IT for hosting the event.

Reminder that you can get unfree+redistributable binaries (eg: CUDA, ZeroTier or MongoDB) from the nix-community.cachix.org cache.

I noticed today that this knowledge is not widely available.
