I didn’t include this context in this story, but I think this is worth remembering: if you work full time at federal min wage ($7.25/hr) you earn just $15,080/year. 138% of fed poverty level is ≈ $10.38/hr full time. More than 20 states use fed min wage.

For the last 40 minutes, we've been monitoring a small group of protesters near Riverpark Square and attempts by Spokane Police, and also Councilmember Paul Dillon and a local organizer, to get the protesters to go home.

We've been unable to identify explicit demands the group have
I was too tired to stay, but Spokane News has still been out and showed Spokane police telling people they needed to disperse in front of City Hall and then going in to make arrests from the looks of it www.facebook.com/share/v/15kr...

Officers tried to stop the march and funnel folks back into the park but they ended up just going around….
