I can get 3 minutes and 20 seconds into Wonderwall before noticing that it’s playing
Thank you for getting me onto SNW, by the way. I’m still on S1, but loving it deeply
I’ve deliberately made the ground insubstantial so I could fall through it, which was very exciting, but I got such an adrenaline burst that it woke me up
I’ve had several lucid dreams. I tend to break them by pushing them a little too hard, like flying up in the air and trying to force my subconscious to generate an entire view of the city
Took my daughter to a “Jack and the Beanstalk” pantomime yesterday. Jack was about to sell his cow to a couple of thieves for a bag of beans. “Should I trust these men?” Jack asked the audience. “Noooo!” a young voice piped up from the back of the auditorium. “They’re going to screw you!”
I wrote and directed this movie! It’s coming out in cinemas across South Africa tomorrow. If you know any kids who like dinosaurs, aliens or cute jungle animals, this might be up their street. (The first movie is available on Showmax in ZA, and on Netflix everywhere else in the world)
Great article from my cousin @mellow-belly.bsky.social about OCD, whiteness and Kinshasa
One of my favourite pieces for #Substack: "The glow of my victory has worn off and I see the city not as an exercise in overcoming my demons, but as a city in and of itself. And it troubles me deeply."
Whose Body is a Temple?

Then they realise that people in the future are using Aorist Rods to burn the present, and they quickly have to destroy all knowledge of Aorist Rods before the people in the future do it. Anyway, doesn’t sound at all like any modern technology, I don’t know why I mention it 2/2
Douglas Adams’ short story “Young Zaphod Plays It Safe”, mentions Aorist Rods, which are a cheap form of energy that burn the past as fuel. Some people object to this, and are accused of progress-blocking sentimentality. 1/2
Self-promotion continues unabated

"The First Murder On Mars" includes a mention of fire opals. As a small part of my thanks for all her support, I bought Kerry a fire opal. Kerry and Megan-Jayne McFall designed a setting for it based on the parachute of the Perseverance Mars rover, which had a hidden message:
DARE MIGHTY THINGS.
All pterodactyls sound like hadedas, this is fact
