Candidate for Congress (VA CD-1) I'm not here to make dollars, I'm here to make change. linktr.ee/salaambhattiva

Storytime.

During call time, I spoke with an economist who said he’ll vote for the most moderate candidate.

I couldn’t help myself tell him my platform is health care for all, taxing billionaires, and fighting for the working class.

Moderate policies to counter fascism?? Gtfo.
Jessica Anderson: people not participating in Medicaid will also see impacts to their health care premiums.

Man next to me mutters, “she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”

He’s gonna wake up to a surprise on November 1.
A compliment of the highest order.
Salaam Bhatti as Mister Rogers

Like a good neighbor, he wants to bring his experience in community service and social safety nets to Congress.

I’m at the @whropublicmedia.bsky.social candidate forum tonight to learn about issues that matter to my neighbors in Williamsburg.

Voters in Hanover County, Louisa County, & Henrico County, you have a Democratic candidate who will represent YOU in the House of Delegates (HD59) instead of the incumbent Republican who represents Trump.

Vote for Democrat Scott “K” Konopasek on November 4
2026 #VA01 candidate @salaambhattiva.bsky.social in conversation with a candidate who I hope will be my 2026 delegate rep in HD59, Scott “K” Konopasek!!

We are in revolutionary times.
We need revolutionary ideas.
That's why I'm running for Congress.

Tax the billionaires.
Health care for all.
Living wages.
End the damn genocide.
Found myself praying for you while falling asleep last night. Let’s get this done!
Accurate, but missing one like: end the genocide in Gaza
Salaam Bhatti

Likes: fighting for the working class, making change, building a better safety net, people power, paying one’s fair share of taxes

Dislikes: catering to billionaires; party leaders who further their self-interests, defunding education, PAC & dark money

Rob Wittman will be doing a tele town hall at the same time as a Williamsburg Candidates Forum.

Way to know your district.

Don’t worry Williamsburg, I’ll be there with you to support our candidates 🥳
Seconded. All in favor?
Policies that are ACTUALLY pro-life:

Universal Healthcare
Free School Lunches
Universal Childcare
Paid Maternity & Paternity Leave
Comprehensive Sex Ed
Affordable Housing
Food Assistance
First, candidates take money from corporate PACs.
Then, candidates take money from AIPAC.
Next thing you know, a foreign nation is building its military base in America after gifting Trump a plane.

For the sake of our nation, we must end this bribery.
Hegseth: "I'm also proud that today we're signing a letter of acceptance to build a Qatari Emeri air force facility at the Mountain Home Airbase in Idaho."
Every Virginian who has seen THAT political ad was desperate for Abigail to say, after the umpteenth interruption, "Winsome, I'm speaking."
Winsome taking notes from Trump constantly, and publicly, wanting to kill people.

"Murder is murder and one day it's going to be your turn."
Lying Rob is at it again.

He claims he voted for a bipartisan House bill to fund the gov't.

My guy, only 1 Democrat voted for it.

The bar for bipartisanship is lower than the number of town halls he's held this year.

Rob is trying to deflect that Republicans put the 'own' in shutdown.
Us: can you help food banks get more food?
GOP: no, but we will cut their funding.
Us: ok sooo will you do anything to help?
GOP: we removed dyes from skittles.
Us: uhhh is that it?
GOP: this is how you talk to your govt?! We're sending in the national guard.
GOP: everyone must eat healthy. MAHA!
Us: we'd love to, can you make groceries cheaper?
GOP: No, but we will make them pricier with our tariffs.
Us: can you help us to afford the food?
GOP: no, but we will cut food stamps.
The National Governors Association didn't even blink when the Big Bill snaked its way through Congress, despite the unfunded mandates the bill dumped on states.
If the National Governors Association chooses to remain silent, Illinois will have no choice but to withdraw from the organization.

We should be standing as one against the idea that Donald Trump can call up the National Guard against our will.
Can't trust our district with someone who we can't trust to be around our kids.
Check out this word salad email I received from his office when I contacted them about the Epstein Files 🤣
Frequently, the Department of Justice (DoJ and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are on the frontlines of enforcing these laws. I have the utmost confidence in their abilities and respect their rights to investigative and prosecutorial independence. These men and women are the best in the world at what they do, and I believe in the efficacy and thoroughness of their investigations.
As your representative, I have a duty to protect our sacred institutions and the rights of all Americans. I trust that the proper authorities will handle difficult situations with integrity. I was proud to join House Republicans in voting to affirm Chairman Comer's House Oversight Committee Investigation into the Epstein Files.
This vote continues the House Oversight
Committee's investigation with the release of files on the matter. Unlike other proposals currently circulating through Congress, this investigation contains a binding subpoena that has the force of law to release all DOJ documents related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. This investigation is in active conversation with victims, does not require Senate approval, and is already delivering results for the American public.
As Congress continues to debate and monitor these issues, I pledge to keep your thoughts in mind.
Just saw Rob Wittman has another 'pay-to-play' event to see him.

Here's a difference between him and me: you don't have to pay to see me.

Check out my website at SalaamForVA.com and you'll see a NEW option to set up a meet and greet!
screenshot of Salaam's campaign website volunteer form. It includes options to canvas, phone bank, do petition signing, host a meet and greet (the subject of the post), host a fundraiser, or other.
