The Devil's Coach Horse is a Rove Beetle and we often see them run across our floor at this time of year.
It is a predator, hunting mainly by night, feeding on a range of invertebrates.

This wetland grey bird is tricky to identify when flying towards you, but when settled is shows it's colours and wags its tail.
NOT a Yellow Wagtail, but a Grey Wagtail at Pett Level.

Piddocks.
With low spring tides, all the old forest at Pett Level was revealed at dawn.
These molluscs create circular holes/homes in the peat from which they filter the sea water.
