I literally asked you a question so I could make plans around your answer. So when you say “nothing” to me that means “nothing.” Don’t come back later asking me to drive you somewhere. #Parenting
Don’t mind me, I’m just spinning out of control losing my ish. So please, keep peppering me with questions as I try and get my 💩 together.
@minakimes.bsky.social really said “I don’t think the Broncos have the horses against the Eagles secondary” on the @domoniquefoxworth.bsky.social show today and nobody seemed to catch it.
Finished “Vineland” by Thomas Pynchon. Very interesting book. Well written. Though challenging to follow at times. #Booksky 📖
Can’t wait to read it….
I put “Blacktop Wasteland” on hold this afternoon. I’m really looking forward to reading all his work.
Halfway through S.A. Cosby’s “My Darkest Prayer.” This book quickly drew in with the way he writes his characters. So much depth built into the characters and the plot but still moves quickly and fluidly. #Blackbooksky 📚 #Booksky📚
Yes, she has a book titled “How Long ‘til Black Future Month.” A collection of her short stories. What turned me on to her.
@shunnyreads.bsky.social how have you enjoyed reading S.A. Cosby? I heard about him last week on a podcast. Just got his first book today, “My Darkest Prayer” to read.
Those are great duology too. I was confused until I realized it started as one of her short stories.
I’m constantly blown away by N. K. Jemisin’s writing. Just finished Book 1 of her The Broken Earth Trilogy, “The Fifth Season.” Mind blown 🤯 by the way the story and characters came together. Can wait to start Book 2, “The Obelisk Gate” later today. #Blackbooksky📚 #Booksky📚
Read “My Dear Henry: A Jekyll and Hyde Remix” this week. It is a remarkable retelling of the original but with the men meeting earlier in school among other variances. Definitely worth the read. #Booksky 📖 #Blackbooksky📖
“The Warmth of Other Suns” is an amazing look at the Great Migration. Wish I hadn’t waited so long to get it off my TBR List. Also, glad I read it after “Driving While Back.” #BlackBooksky #Booksky
Started reading “Washington Black” this week. The book has taken a highly different turn than I expected after the first two chapters. But I’m enjoying it ‘cause it is keeping my guessing. Highly recommend it. #Blackbooksky 📚 #Booksky📚
“A History of the African-American People (Proposed) by Strom Thurmond” by James Percival and James Kincaid is the funniest book I have read since “Catch-22” #Booksky 📚 #Blackbooksky 📚
Percival Everett is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I just finished “Erasure” today. I love the way he puts you in the role of the main character as you’re reading. #Blackbooksky 📚 #Booksky📚

I pray that Florida doesn’t get him with a hurricane 🌀 this year.
I didn’t mean you were wrong, I meant to say don’t get me wrong. My apology. And I’m not upset.
Don’t get it wrong. I’m having a great day. Doesn’t mean I have to celebrate a holiday that didn’t make me free for a country that doesn’t love me.
I’m not just thinking Black. But nobody right now free but people with money, real money. Has nothing to do with Black heritage. But in the words of W.E.B. DuBois:
“Most men today cannot conceive of a freedom that does not involve somebody’s slavery.”
Then I won’t even tell you about ketchup and mayonnaise
