The EU promised Egypt €7.4 billion in exchange for human rights improvements. Sadly, we see no change so far.

Don't roll out the red carpet for Al-Sisi, but demand change during Wednesday's summit: No human rights improvements, no EU money.

That's our message to @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu 👇
Their problems are being ignored while their tax money goes into the pockets of the rich and powerful.
How are people supposed to still believe in democracy, if democratically elected leaders strip them of their basic rights to shelter, good working conditions, and healthcare? 3/3
Secondly, the rest of the private sector.
One thing is clear: the budget does not serve the majority of Europeans, who struggle with the rising cost of living, shrinking access to quality public services, and the consequences of natural disasters caused by climate change. 2/3
The Commissioner said it very clearly: we need to cut spending. Preferably on social and green policies, if you read the budget.
Who will benefit?
First of all: the arms industry, who will enjoy a 5 times bigger budget, despite the huge subsidies it already receives. 1/3

multinational agricultural corporations and against political leaders who continue to adopt policies dictated by lobbying against the interests of ordinary people and small businesses. 2/2
Today, European farmers are protesting in Strasbourg against reforms to the Common Agricultural Policy and fighting possible budget cuts.
I believe they have every right to do so, and I fully support the struggle for survival of small European farmers against 1/2
Despite the neocolonial Trump ceasefire plan, dozens of Palestinians are still being murdered and the access to aid is still being blocked. We need to keep up the pressure until Palestine is free from occupation and independent.

We are in Geneva today and tomorrow with Rima Hassan of @lfi.bsky.social and the @left.eu to talk about #corporateaccountability at the United Nations, and today we march to protest against the shameless profiteering of international companies from the genocide in Gaza and in the West Bank. 1/2

Public money is funding spyware!

With 39 MEPs from 4 political groups, we are writing to the @ec.europa.eu to express deep concerns following @ftm.eu revelations that EU financed spyware companies!

This must stop! We call on full transparency and follow up on the PEGA committee recommendations!
It is time that these companies take responsibility and that we stop subsidising business. Public funding must have strict conditionalities for it to be invested in R&D and in training for workers, avoiding job losses at all costs. It is time that businesses pay for the transition, not you. 3/3
and manage their businesses with competence and responsibility have been left off the hook and have kept profiting. Meanwhile, millions of workers have been dismissed in the automotive and energy sector, and production moved to countries where labour is cheaper and working conditions are worse. 2/3
