a delight to work with and a pleasure to have in class

I have SIX entire wardrobes of costume pieces to work with. The show is going to be very cute.
Oh also today was my first Nutcracker orientation session! The staff is mostly teens but my job involves spreadsheets so they hired an adult for that one. (They did not make me participate in the teen icebreaker activities.)
I found her escape route and covered it up, so future crises averted hopefully
Did I mention that one of my baby geckos ESCAPED last night and crawled into the crack between the ceiling and the wall? And I somehow managed to get her out?
The job is at a law firm, which is not a field I ever thought I’d work in, but after speaking with them today it sounds like a potentially great fit.
I got a second interview!!!
Initial interview went well! Should hear back pretty soon. The employer seems GREAT so I’m crossing my fingers.

They sold these in the American section of my local grocery store when I lived in Scotland. I was very baffled by it.
That is awesome! It’s so great that the theatre was able to give him the experience. I hope he had a good time and learned a lot!
Bought a baby mourning gecko at a reptile expo. Told my knowledgeable-about-reptiles friend, who informed me that they’re a social species and the salesperson absolutely shouldn’t have just sold me one. So now I have THREE baby mourning geckos 😬
Training: This is just like a spreadsheet!
Me: Okay so like why not just do a spreadsheet
I otherwise really want the job but I wish I could just use Excel.
Doing an online Salesforce training to prep for a job interview and boy do I hate this.
My annual Sports Commentary is that the uniforms look too similar. One team should switch to a blue background with white/grey lettering.
This reminds me of a teacher I had in high school, who gave out her home address to all her students. She had a rule that we could turn in assignments *to her house* on the day they were due, and they wouldn’t be counted as late if she got them by 9:00 pm. She was a great teacher, but I would never.
It just occurred to me that the kids who attend my neighborhood school (the one I sub at) presumably also LIVE in my neighborhood, which means that some of them are probably going to find out where I live tonight.

happy halloween i am ready to confuse some trick-or-treaters
Ah yes, I remember this part of teaching middle school. Like pulling teeth!
I’m watching it now! This is…taking some turns.
This is the post that convinced me to finally get Hades 2
Don’t worry! That one will officially start next week and go through December!
I’m adding Migrations to my library holds!
Great plots, great characters, and I always love novels that involve nature and science.
I recently finished Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy and loved it, and my library hold for Once There Were Wolves (same author) came in right as I was finishing it, and I am also loving that one so far.
I also found out that funding fell through for another job I applied for, which I guess is a better rejection than “yeah sorry we just didn’t like you”
