Mycket intressant bok, får bli sommarläsning!

I’d completely forgotten about RFT. Brings back memories
Turns out proportions aren't collapsible after all. Take that, OR haters.

"Globally, approximately 3.3% of the population reports using AAS, with prevalence rates of 6.4% among men [2] and 4% among women [3]."

Spoiler alert: Screen time alone was weakly and inconsistently associated with mental health indicators

I watched this so you don’t have to. A couple of highlights:

”I sometimes say that 'screen use', when putting that into statistical models, it’s sort of like looking at 'car use' when trying to find out why injuries are happening from car accidents” 🇳🇴

"The authors are the ones that are familiar with the data, that are experts ... they’re the ones that should be convincing us. They should be using all these extra methods like bias analyses and inputting their expert knowledge to convince us that the real answer is somewhere in this range"
re b) the option to request an "advisory opinion" is basically there to meet journal policies, even though the application is technically rejected
It depends, ethical review would be required if the study is "carried out with a method that aims to affect the research participant physically or mentally, or involves an obvious risk of harm to them in body or mind"
I'm sure there is a SEM model for this
Yeah, I guess that’s right. I meant to reply to Matti's comment
Big brain move. No need for p-hacking or faking data
Sweden doesn’t require ethical review either, as long as participants are anonymous. If you apply for ethics for these types of studies it will be rejected (although you have the option to request an "advisory opinion")
Honestly, with how fuzzy these construcs are I wouldn’t be surprised if there's no association
Not sure where to start with this one. Internet gaming addiction… is a risk factor for internet gaming disorder
If gambling is the blueprint, we can expect that the definition of "gaming" won’t come from scientists but from lawyers
