Romance authors (any creative types, really): Where are you in the spiral today?
I'm bouncing between "This is hot though" and "Everyone will hate it."
Please send help. Coffee. Pics of sexy people. Your fave unhinged bookish quotes. Wine. Tequila. Something. Anything.
Thanks!
Guys to romance readers: “Romance creates unrealistic expectations.”
My response: Nah, babe. It just shows what bare minimum accountability looks like…with abs. 👏📚💅

I love that one!
Somewhere in the depths of things I’ve not worn in ages, I’ve got some chainmail earrings I grabbed at a con way back when. They make a cool sound when you shake your head.
My next book is something of love letter to my adopted hometown & features some of my fave places around Baltimore.
If you’re ever visiting, definitely check out:

In bookish news:
Book 1 of the new series comes out 4/8!
Book 2 is drafted & in revisions.
Book 3 is outlined & 1st chapter sorta fleshed out.
And I solved my email issues so I can finally launch a newsletter. Yay!
Now I just need to get folks to sign up for it.

Three scenes & an epilogue left to complete this draft, then it's time to dive right into fleshing out & prepping for revisions.
I'm only a month behind.
How am I supposed to concentrate on writing?

Authors, post something related to your last publication or WIP without context.
After graduating w/ a degree in the technical & business end of theater, I got disillusioned w/ the field.
I'd been an EMT for a while, it was one of the ways I paid my bills. I became a paramedic & worked fire & rescue for a while, intending to go back to school to pursue MICN.
Kids derailed that.
If you went to college
1. what was your career goal when you started?
2. your initial major?
3. if you changed majors, what did you change to?
4. what do you do now, professionally?

Complicated!
1. Journalist
2. Journalism
3. Theater (technical side)
4. Freelance editor (career editor)
But...

First rule of thesaurus club: You do not talk, discuss, chat, speak, gab, confer, deliberate, gossip, or prattle about thesaurus club.
In honor of National Thesaurus Day & feeling like dredging up an old trend—a wordcloud based on a certain project coming out in April.
How did we get into mid-January already?
I'm hustling through final tweaks on Charm City Connections Book 1—it's due out in April & it's almost time to get it into final edits.
Not gonna lie, I'm excited & a little scared to be making the leap to full on indie author.

Errand day provided the opportunity to grab lunch w/ a friend, which meant I got one of my faves—egusi soup.
Yum!!
Wow. So good to know that the spammers & scammers, folks selling services, & the rando men going "hey beautiful" are all here too.
It's so comforting.
Right? Chaotic folks who write/read? Hello!
Likely an author list 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’ve been slowly finding other bookish folk—via lists, people connected to authors I know, etc.
To be fair—I’ve given up trying to filter. Folks are just gonna have to accept the chaotic, cussing, caffeine fueled thing that is my brain.
Apropos of nothing… how to feel old? Get a pill sorter that has morning & evening slots for each day.
How I say: Don’t care, I’m gonna do what works for me & it’s gonna be cool & cute?

Awesome! Thanks. I went on a major follow spree. That’s so helpful for finding all the bookish folk!
Well that just made my life easier! Thank you. How do I get added to this? (Writer of contemporary romance & reader of pretty much everything.)
Might as well post some of my food stuff—my two fave topics, food and writing.
Been up to my eyeballs in making mini pies for Friendsgiving.
And would ya lookit that crust?!?
Guess intros are in order. I am:
A writer & reader. Mom to LGBTQ+ adults. Liberal. Feminist. ND. Not Xtian. Striving to be anti-racist & always discovering new things to unpack.
I talk romance & politics & human rights & sex & consent & the non-vanilla & food & cooking.
And yeah I talk up my books.
