If you are on Argent Dawn EU and interested in farstrider RP, you should check out my friend's new guild. They've always been exceedingly helpful NPCing for the Irregulars and odds are that if you have been to a campaign where Silas or I were DMing, Dawncrown was NPCing at least one enemy.

By the time I made an AA page and forum thread, the guild had been up and running for 4 months. As for my own idea list, here's the 2 others I thought about before settling on the Irregulars:

Draenei rangari unit.
Old Horde style warband hiding in the new Horde.

I don't think there's anything that's too niche actually. The hard part is always getting things off the ground and I don't know if you can rely on open recruitment for that. When I started the Irregulars, I asked my friends, old guildies, etc, and they asked their friends. 1/2

Like, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with your neutral artifact hunters/mercenaries with a heart of gold/multi race Horde warband concept, but what's the hook? What is it that should draw people to *yours* over the others?

Looking at the spread of guilds on Argent Dawn in 2025, I wish more people would go for stuff that isn't so catch all. Or at least think about what it is that sets your guild apart from all the others that on paper sound just like it.

To be fair, Warcraft dialogue has always been a bit naff. I think it is just more glaring when you are presented with only the text. I recently did the Blood in the Snow scenario from Mists for the first time in forever, and Jesus fucking Christ. That's even from an expansion people actually like.

Not to act like I am above it all or anything, but it is so easy to walk away with an uncharitable opinion when all you have to go by is a couple of screenshots from the alpha. I will have a good whinge about it when I get to play it myself and not a second before haha.
